The Fifth Order is the online showcase and portfolio of freelance art director and illustrator, Jeff Huang. Jeff has been a freelance designer, illustrator, andgraphic artistfor more than 6 years now, and have created artwork and illustrations for many companies and publications worldwide. As a freelance designer from New York, Jeff aims to create innovative digital artwork and illustrations with the very best quality and attention to detail. Known for his imagination, uncanny eye for detail, patience, and precision in skill & technique, he has a natural ability to develop a good relationship with his clients and other creatives. In art direction, Jeff always shares his knowledge and expertise from his experience being a freelance designer, illustrator and digital painter.

Another aspect of digital art and illustration that Jeff is known for, is digital painting and photo manipulation. As a digital painter, Jeff is known to draw from his freelance designer and illustrator ways and delivers the best work that he can produce. It is a key principle in Jeff's aesthetics, that it is about quality and not quantity. When commissioned to tackle a project as a freelance designer, illustrator, and digital painter, Jeff would often go out of his way in order to complete the project with the highest quality and in a timely manner.

Before Jeff became a full time freelance designer, illustrator, and digital painter, he majored in Computer Art at the School of Visual Arts in New York. While pursuing his bachelor's degree, he continued to to work as a freelance designer, illustrator, and digital painter and tried his best to get more exposure in the design world. He tackled on various commissions internationally whether it be illustration jobs, or tutorials for magazines. Jeff tried to keep his head above the waters in the deep sea of aspiring freelance artists.

Aside from his main job as a freelance designer, illustrator, and digital painter, Jeff is a proud senior member of his second family - the Depthcore collective. Depthcore is an international art collective focused on modern and abstract art, incorporating design, photography, animation and audio. Established by Justin Maller and Kevin Stacey in 2002. Depthcore's membership is comprised of artists of all ages from all locations around the world and all walks of life, united by their love for art, and their passion for innovation. The group was established to provide a showcase for the best in modern craftsmanship, with the primary goals of breaking design conventions and pushing the boundaries of artwork created or enhanced digitally. In a medium inundated with repetition we aim to bring something unique and innovative with every release we put forth, as we illustrate, orchestrate and visually represent the thoughts, hopes and dreams of all corners of the globe.

When Jeff isn't working as a freelance art director and illustrator, Jeff enjoys being with his lovely girlfriend, his family & friends, shopping, and occasionally playing video games. Being a freelance designerr can be exhausting at times, so Jeff really values his time with his family when he has the chance.

Sections - Commercial Illustrations: In the Commercial Illustrations section, you can expect to see Jeff's selected work as a freelance art director & illustrator, from 2004-Present. Some abstract art, some photo manipulations, etc. It consists of client based commissions as a freelance designer, illustrator.

Sections - Personal Illustrations: In the Personall Illustrations section, you can expect to see Jeff's selected work as an artist, from 2004-Present. Some graffiti art, 3D, abstract art, some photo manipulations, and mainly experimental artwork. Be sure to check this section out, as there is where Jeff's playground lie. Sometimes being a designer, illustrator, and art director could take a toll on one's creativity and artistic aesthetics, so Jeff tries to round this out by experimenting more with his personal artwork.

Sections - Photo Retouching & Photo Manipulation: In the Photo Retouching & Photo Manipulation section, you will see Jeff's selected work as a freelance photo editor & illustrator, from 2004-Present. All of these works are created using photos, often manipulated and digitally painted on top of. Jeff is also skilled in beauty photo retouching + general retouching.

Sections - Animation: The Animation section consists of a 3D animation created by Jeff as a senior thesis, entitled "Fragments". Created over the course of his senior year, Fragments took much time, effort, and sleepless nights to complete. It embodies Jeff's vision of Surrealism in a 3D animation. He is very proud of the results and have received lots of positive feedback on this project. As a freelance designer, illustrator, and art director, Jeff prefers static 3D imaging instead of animation. He uses his knowledge of 3D animation often in both his client and personal artwork and continues to expand his skills by learning and experimental work.

Sections - Photography: In the Photography section, you will see some of Jeff's work with photography as a side hobby. With his humble knowledge in digital photography, Jeff is much of a gut photographer and uses post processing to help realize his vision with his photos. Unfortunately as a freelance designer, Jeff rarely gets the chance to use his photography knowledge, but he feels that his artistic vision and aesthetics are present in both his digital art and digital photography. His photography may not be the most technically correct, but he knows what he likes - and that is what he relies on when it comes to his photos.

Though there will not be any of his client based work as wallpapers, you will find most of his personal artwork available as wallpapers for download in various sizes. You can also conveniently find a entire wallpaper package for the Ipad and Iphone. Already sized in their screen's dimensions, all you have to do is choose a wallpaper from the package and transfer it into your device! As of now there are only wallpapers, but Jeff plans to have more content in the downloads section in the near future.

Sections - E-Shop: This section isn't up yet but will be in the near future. This section will feature some of Jeff's work as a freelance designer, for sale. It is meant to be a e-shop for prints of Jeff's work as well as other stationary goods. It has been a unrealized dream of Jeff to start a clothing brand, so that is still up in the air.
