I used to be a active member on DeviantART back in the early 2000s when it was at it’s prime. It was extremely fun and it is the place where I met most of my now, well known, designer friends. 3D abstract art was what inspired me to get into digital art, and DeviantART was where the most talented 3D abstract artists showcased their work.
I left my mark in the community when I started to experiment with creating 3D graffiti and putting them into environments. This was a new discovery at the time and I believe I was one of the first to put this type of 3D graffiti art on display. It became a big hit and a lot of digital artwork after that was inspired by this 3D graffiti style, and many typography based work coming out from Cinema4D today has similar aesthetics.
